Susan will tell the story of the remarkable artistic and emotional partnership of Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) and Diego Rivera (1886-1957) and their part in the radical development of Mexican Art. This talk complements the current Tate Modern exhibition Frida: the Making of an Icon, showing until 27th January, 2027.
Susan Bailes MA, is a member of the St Anne’s congregation who has given previous talks to the Friends, including on Three British Queens and their Wonderful Miniature Worlds (November 2024) and The Golden Age of Children’s Books Illustration in Edwardian England (April 2022).
